Stacey and Bob Ferrante came to the area with a vision. We wanted to create a place where we could help the novice and pro alike get the best bait possible so that they can catch fish and have fun with family and friends. We also wanted to offer more than just live bait. Lake Conroe is well known for its bass fishing. There are many amateur and pro bass fishermen that come from near and far to fish here and we wanted to make this a place where they could come and get the types of tackle that works on this lake.So under new ownership with a new look and a new name, April Sound Bait Shop officially began serving the Lake Conroe area in April of 2016. By November of 2016 we had grown such that we could change our name to April Sound Bait & Tackle. Located on Highway 105 W just 8.5 miles west of Interstate 45 and just 6 miles east of downtown Montgomery near the entrance to the April Sound Subdivision. The shop was in dire straits when we purchased it and we knew had our work cut out for us. Bob went to work totallyremodeling the inside with a tackle store area separate from the live bait tanks. It took several weeks during some of the coldest days of the year and he is still tweaking it today. We are passionate about 2 things. We are passionate about customer service. Both of us have been in customer service positions throughout our careers. We believe that listening to our customers is of the utmost importance. Asking the right questions and paying close attention to their answer is the key to helping them have a good day on the lake. Then there's our passion for fishing. The thing is, we both have always loved saltwater fishing. Neither one of us had done much freshwater fishing so we knew we had a lot to learn there. And we are learning. We are learning from our experienced Lake Conroe family as well as our own experiences fishing on the lake. We want, more than anything else, for you to have a good fishing experience during your time on Lake Conroe. Whether it is just a visit for a day or two or if you live in the neighborhood. We want this to be your "go to" bait and tackle shop.
